ROCKFORD—The 17th Advent Bible Lecture Series will begin on Nov. 27.

The three-part series features John McGrath, diocesan director of Faith Formation, who has selected “Receiving the Word of God at Mass this Advent” as his topic.

Sessions will run from 1 to 2:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall at the Cathedral of St. Peter, 1243 N. Church St. in Rockford. Topics are:

â–º Nov. 27 — Advent Lectionary Readings for week 1: A Pilgrimage of Hope;

â–º Dec. 4 — Advent Lectionary Reading for weeks 2 and 3: The Challenge of John the Baptist; Change your Heart!;

â–º Dec. 11 — Advent Lectionary Readings for week 4: Nurturing a Life of Faith.

The series is sponsored by the Rockford Deanery Council of Catholic Women and the Rockford Deanery Bible Fellowship for Men.
