There’s Still Time to Join Young Catholics from the Rockford Diocese Who Are Helping Students in Peru This Lent
March 23, 2017

DIOCESE—On Ash Wed-nesday, third grade students at St. Andrew School in Rock Falls decorated their paper hearts for the Heart to Heart program sponsored by The Junior Observer and the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women.

During Lent, the students have been praying, making sacrifices, and donating money for school supplies for the children in the Diocese of Chulucanas in Peru.

But even if you didn’t get as early a start as these students did, there is still time to take part in the Lent tradition that is in its 17th year in the Rockford Diocese.

Cut out and decorate the pair of hearts on page 11.

If you need extra hearts, make copies or ask an adult to help you download hearts at http://observer.rockforddiocese.org/junior-observer. Click on the Heart to Heart Project  link.

Send your decorated double-hearts and a $2 donation for each pair to The Junior Observer, P.O. Box 7044, Rockford, IL 61125. (Ask your parents to write checks to DCCW.)

Do not mount your hearts on other paper because it adds to mailing costs.

The deadline to send your hearts and donation is Good Friday, April 14.
