Vincentians Respond To Local Flood Needs

DIOCESE—After heavy rains and flooding in parts of the Rockford Diocese in early August, Rockford Diocese Vincentians responded to needs from the east to the west, especially  in McHenry and Stephenson Counties.

Vincentian volunteers interviewed hundreds who came to resource centers set up by the Red Cross in McHenry and Lake counties. They gathered a variety of information from what was lost, to  immediate needs.

A week later, Stephenson County was declared a disaster area. Another multiple agency resource center was staffed by Vincentians from the western part of the diocese along with other church and government agencies.
