Diocese Responds Generously to Disasters

DIOCESE—According to the Diocesan Finance Office, contributions for the recent natural disasters have been generous.

As of Oct. 10, for Hurricane Harvey, 97 parishes in the diocese have donated $485,494.95.

For Hurricane Irma, 52 parishes have donated $208,267.82.

At press time parishes were still collecting donations for both Hurricane Irma, as well as for last week’s collection for victims of the earthquake in Mexico and of Hurricane Maria.

Donations can be sent to Hurricane/Disaster Relief, Diocese of Rockford, PO Box 7044, Rockford, IL 61125.
All donations are being forwarded to the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops for Catholic Charities, Catholic Relief Services and local dioceses affected by the disasters in Texas, Florida, Puerto Rico, Mexico and people in the Caribbean.
