St. Charles KC Auxiliary Donates Time
November 2, 2017
ST. CHARLES—The Ladies Auxiliary of Knights of Columbus’ Council 12497 from St. Patrick and St. John Neumann parishes, here, have had several productive months.

In September, they and a few Knights, volunteered at Habitat for Humanity, helping to finish up a home in Elgin.

This was their third venture, joining the future owners in  building their home.

Habitat for Humanity believes in a hand-up, and not a hand-out.

On the first weekend of October, the auxiliary held their third ‘Come Shred with Us’ fundraiser. They hired a local, professional shredding truck, to shred people’s sensitive documents while they watch and wait.

Any good-will donation which was given to the auxiliary went towards the special needs of their parishes and community.

On Oct. 13, the Ladies Auxiliary took over the organization of their parishes’ “Bunco for Breast Cancer” event. The money raised will go entirely to the Living Well Cancer Resource Center in Geneva.

The bunco night was well-attended and they received generous donations from businesses throughout the community.
