Diocese Holds Fifth Be Reconciled Day
April 5, 2018
The Rockford Diocese held its fifth Be Reconciled Day, March 21.

Bishop David Malloy inaugurated Be Reconciled Day during his first Lent in the Rockford Diocese.

He asked the priests of every parish to set aside one day — the Wednesday before Holy Week — to hear confessions for as much of the day as possible.

Be Reconciled Day gives Catholics who live and work in the 11 counties of the Rockford Diocese a chance to come to confession at their convenience.

While smaller parishes shared a day-long schedule, some larger parishes were open as long as 12 hours to hear confessions.

Pope Francis has instituted a similar day in the Diocese of Rome.
