CWL Officers Installed May 8
May 16, 2019
ROCKFORD—The Catholic Women’s League in Rockford installed officers at its annual Mass for Peace on May 8 at the Poor Clares Corpus Christi Monastery Chapel.

Bishop David Malloy and Father Leonard Jacobs, CWL spiritual director, celebrated the Mass assisted by Deacon Ronald Graw.

Bishop Malloy installed CWL officers who will serve for the next one to two years. Mary Ellen Nash will be president; Angie Cash, recording secretary; and Mary Kay Tapp, treasurer.

At the Mass, Bishop Malloy spoke about the peace of Christ “that gives our hearts assurance” and helps us be “faithful, positive and balanced” through the trials of life.

He also thanked the CWL members for their service, noting that “in a very real way, it is service to the Church.”

The Catholic Women’s League celebrates 110 years this year. It raises and provides donations to several Catholic parishes and projects and to other social agencies such as Children’s Safe Harbor and the area Pregnancy Care Center.

The group also sponsors a number of activities — social, spiritual and community outreach. Annual dues are $15.
