ROCKFORD—Bishop David Malloy will celebrate Mass on Memorial Day at 9 a.m. May 27 at Calvary Cemetery. 

 

The diocesan cemetery is at 8616 W. State St. (U.S. Rt. 20) between Rockford and Winnebago.

 

This is the day Americans remember all those who have died in the service of our country. 

 

A tent is erected behind the  cemetery mausoleum, so the Mass is held rain or shine. 

 

Donuts and coffee are offered at the end of the Mass.

 

Other diocesan cemeteries also offer Memorial Day Masses. Each of the following Masses is offered at the cemetery weather permitting.

 

AURORA -- Mt. Olivet, 278 Ashland Ave., 10 a.m.

 

ELGIN -- Mt. Hope, 1001 E. Villa St., 9 a.m. 

 

FREEPORT -- Calvary Cemetery, 2340 W. Stephenson St., 9 a.m.

 

GENEVA -- Resurrection, 37W210 Fabyan Parkway, 8 a.m.
