CRYSTAL LAKE—Rosemary Blazier was selected the Woman of Inspiration by the St Thomas the Apostle Woman’s Club here at its annual Woman’s Club spring luncheon, on May 2.

Blazier has been an active parishioner at St Thomas for over 60 years, having taught high school religious ed, served as a lector, provided leadership in the Marriage Encounter program, worked as a homebound (hospital) minister at Northwestern Medicine Immediate Care, sung in both the adult and Resurrection choirs, worked in the Little Christopher Shoppe, trained confirmation students, supported fund raising efforts for the St. Thomas School gym and the parish community room additions, and promoted the founding of the St. Jude Guild.

She and her husband Bob, married 70 years this June, have contributed greatly to the Crystal Lake community. Together they have initiated and continue to support the local 24-hour walk/run for cancer research, the Raue Center for the Arts, the Bob Blazier Run for the Arts, and the Rosie Walk for the Arts.

She has also delivered Meals on Wheels, supported the Salvation Army Christmas Gift Program, the Sherman Hospital Physicians Heart Education program, initiated the Service League House Walk, and been an active, long-standing member of the International Philanthropic Educational Organization.

Even after a debilitating stroke several years ago, she continues to inspire others with her spirit and grace.
