Elgin DCCW Donates Gifts to Several Area Women’s Shelters
June 13, 2019
ELGIN—The Elgin Deanery Council of Catholic Women (EDCCW) collected women’s toiletry items for the 16th year and delivered gift bags to women in area shelters in time for Mother’s Day.

With help of ladies from St. Patrick, St. Charles; St. Laurence, Elgin; St. Catherine of Siena, Dundee; and St. Thomas More, Elgin, 152 gift bags were filled with items donated by parishioners.

Gift bags went to TLC Pregnancy Center, Elgin; Corbella Clinic, Elgin; Lazarus House, St. Charles; and FISH Food Pantry, Carpentersville.

In June, the group will host a Sister’s Appreciation Luncheon for religious sisters of the deanery.

The Sept. 10 EDCCW meeting is open to members and non-members. It will provide an opportunity to learn about the many activities of the council.
