Three Seats Open on Diocesan Pastoral Council
June 20, 2019
ROCKFORD—Kevin Fuss, executive secretary and diocesan director of Research and Planning, announced three openings on the Diocesan Pastoral Council (DPC) at its June 1 meeting.

One representative is needed  from each of the Aurora, Elgin and McHenry deaneries.

Criteria for serving on the DPC are being a practicing Catholic in good standing in the Church who has shown commitment in a parish.

Candidates should possess good judgment, be comfortable in a group setting, and be able to appreciate the wide spectrum of ministries and services that the diocese provides.

The council addresses matters of pastoral concern that Bishop David Malloy raises. He may also invite the council itself to suggest matters of pastoral concern.

The new representatives will serve one three-year term, beginning with the Nov. 2 meeting. The term may be renewed once.

Representatives attend no more than two morning meetings each year at the Diocesan Administration Center in Rockford.

Prospective members may nominate themselves by contacting the dean of their deanery. Deans are Aurora, Msgr. Arquimedes Vallejo; Elgin, Msgr.Daniel Deutsch; and McHenry, Father Brian Grady.

Nominations must be made in writing and sent by mail to Kevin Fuss at P.O. Box 7044, Rockford, IL 61125 or by email to kfuss@rockforddiocese.org

Candidates should list their current and past involvement in Church life and explain why they wish to be a part of the DPC.
