St. Ed CCHS Tidal Wave a Success

ELGIN—The 30th anniversary St. Edward Central Catholic High School Tidal Wave, “Diamonds and Pearls,” drew more than 400 parents, friends, alums and sponsors at The Stonegate Banquet Center this spring.  
 
Silent and live auction and raffles netted more than $100,000 to benefit the students and programs at the school. 
 
Special recognition went to Brian McGuire, class of 1988, as alum of the year; Pam Klein, the St. Gregory the Great Award  winner for a faculty member; Wrona Bros. Powered by Twist, the patron of the year; and Sue Brieger, the Loyal Order of St. Edward award.  
 
Paul Herrmann, interim principal and superintendent, was recognized for his devotion and dedication to St. Edward CCHS for more than 40 years.  
 
Peg Mueller, the first Tidal Wave chairman, was honored for returning to lead the anniversary event with the help of grads Mary Kae Hoffmann and Christine Rejman.
 
In separate fundrasing, the school’s Guardian Angel financial assistance program also garnered more than $60,000 from the event.
 
The Tidal Wave tradition will continue with “Roaring Into The 20s” on April 18, 2020 at the Chicago Northwest Marriott in Hoffman Estates. 
 
Dr. Brian and Katie Heffelfinger of Sleepy Hollow are the 2020 Tidal Wave chairmen.  
 
Volunteers are needed, committees are being formed and donations and gifts for the auction are being accepted.
