St. Rita of Cascia Remembers ‘Innocent Souls’ at Mass
December 5, 2019
AURORA—More than 100 people gathered at St. Rita of Cascia Parish in Aurora to pray for families that had suffered the loss of a child in a miscarriage, fetal death or the death of a baby or a young child.

At the Oct. 28 bilingual Mass  parishioners wrote on labels the names of the children they were remembering. The labels were placed on a crown and brought to the altar along with the offering during Mass.

A candle lighting ceremony (above) in memory of the deceased children was also part of the service.

Prayer cards, bookmarks (left) and medals in Spanish and English were among items displayed at the church.
