Freeport Parish Initiates Award
January 16, 2020
FREEPORT—St. Mary Parish here has begun presenteing the Yolanda Garcia Nava Award. It will be given each year in memory of her dedication both to her faith and to the parish and its Hispanic community.

Garcia Nava was always willing to help and set a great example.

This year three awards were given at the celebration for Our Lady of Guadalupe. The first went to Yolanda’s children in honor of all the hard work she did for the parish and for her faith.

The second award was given to Esperanza Viveros for the many things she does for the parish, such as organizing events, cooking and carrying out activities to raise money.

The third award was given to Ann Peters for the many things she does with and for the Hispanic community and for always being there to help when help is needed.
