ST. CHARLES—As the coronavirus impact grew, Linda Abendroth, a parishioner at St. Patrick Parish here, and her cousin Janice Nasuti felt they needed to do something to encourage prayer.
“We were prompted to become active (one) Saturday when we were talking,” Abendroth said. “At the same time during the conversation (we) remembered what her Mom and mine said whenever there was some tragedy, ‘God is trying to tell us something!’ ” Both women’s mothers are deceased.
“They both have been with Him a long time now so we took it as a sign,” Abendroth said.
And so they began what they call a Global Moment of Prayer, to take place on April 11 at exactly 12 noon.
The concept is simple, and it is something that persons of any faith — Christian, Muslim, Jewish, or other — can do. And in fact, Abendroth said, she and Nasuti hope people of all faiths will join in this moment to “Look to the Heavens and ask God for His much-needed help!”
The women ask everyone to forward this call to prayer to friends around the world of any and all faiths.
And at noon on April 11, to lift their hearts to God and ask for His saving help.
