Crews from Stenstrom Construction work on preparing the ground on the Cathedral of St. Peter campus for a new prayer garden.

 

A statue of Our Lady of Guadalupe will be placed in the prayer garden.

 

Pavers will be installed along with benches, lighting and a variety of plants all native to Illinois and most all having some religious significance.

 

Markers have also been put in place to designate where new trees will be planted. There will be a tree to represent each bishop serving the Diocese of Rockford since its founding in 1908.

 

The prayer garden and new parking lot expansion is scheduled for completion this fall.
