McHenry Knights Council 16446 Donate Safety Gear
December 10, 2020
MCHENRY—St. Patrick Parish in McHenry is better prepared for emergencies thanks to a donation from Knights of Columbus Council 16446.

Council representatives recently presented an automated electronic defibrillator (AED) to pastor, Father Godwin Asuquo.

The device is used in emergency situations to provide an electronic shock to subjects that are in cardiac arrest or suffering from other abnormal arrhythmias.

The unit is a state of the art device that provides step by step instructions to the operator. No previous training is required.

When the McHenry Township Fire Protection District can resume first aid training, Council 16446 will provide CPR and Heimlich training for St. Patrick’s office staff, as well as making it available to parishioners.

Their goal is to provide first aid to parishioners and guests at all Masses and parish events should the need arise.
