AURORA—Two Marmion Academy seniors have been named finalists in National Merit Scholarship competition.

 

Ryan Bennett of Sugar Grove and Nicholas Wilson of North Aurora are among the top 15,000 high school students nationwide who are finalists in the annual contest. 

 

Bennett and Wilson had to submit a detailed scholarship application, which includes their academic record, extracurricular activities, demonstrated leadership abilities, employment, honors and awards. 

 

They also had to be endorsed by a high school official, submit an essay, and perform well on the SAT national college placement test.
