CRYSTAL LAKE—The McHenry chapter of Magnificat, an international ministry program for Catholic women, will host a prayer breakfast and guest presentation May 21, 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m., at Holiday Inn, 800 S. Rte. 31 in Crystal Lake. 

 

The breakfast will be open to both men and women and will include prayer and praise and worship music led by Dr. Mark Nimo, Ph.D., director of religious education at St. Columbanus Parish in Chicago. The guest speaker will be author and journalist Susan Brinkmann, O.C.D.S. (Secular Order of Discalced Carmelites). Among her roles in Catholic media is Director of Communications and New Age Research for “Women of Grace” on EWTN. 

 

Ticket prices vary. Tickets bought before May 7 will be $30, while tickets bought after May 7 will be $40. Student tickets can be purchased through May 18 for $20. Priests, seminarians and religious will get in free and should call 847-497-0073 beforehand.
