Adam Holder Memorial Donation Protects, Eases Grieving Hearts
August 11, 2022
FREEPORT—A donation of life-saving automated external defibrillator (AED) equipment to Aquin Catholic Schools made by the Holder family and the Adam Holder Memorial Fund will protect the hearts of all the people at the “heart” of the school.

Adam Holder coached for over a decade at Aquin Catholic Schools, leading baseball and girls’ basketball. He was described as a “loving, caring and selfless humble man” in one tribute among thousands more that were left on the Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home website.

Holder died suddenly on Jan. 27 after suffering a medical emergency, leaving the Aquin Catholic School community to mourn. The next day, classes were cancelled and a Mass was said in his honor. Faculty, counselors and area social workers stayed with students who wanted to pray, talk or grieve.

A post about the donation on the school’s Facebook page said, “These AED’s will help ensure Aquin is as safe a school and community center as possible.”

This loving tribute to Holder’s legacy of caring selflessness will care for the students that he loved coaching for many years to come.
