Autumn Novielli is a 3-year old girl diagnosed with cancer and on Oct.  20, the volleyball players at St. Thomas More School in Elgin dedicated their games to her.

The team also had a bake sale 50/50 raffle, and sold beads, yellow ribbons, and loom bracelets. All proceeds went to Autumn’s cause.

Autumn’s aunt Kimberly Mohr, who was coordinating the event, said, “Autumn had a blast doing the coin toss, being in the huddles, coaching the girls, taking pictures and cheering on the teams.”

Mohr said that they “made over $400 with some last minute donations added in.”

Autumn’s family is very thankful for the generosity of the team and everyone who helped support Autumn.

Donations in Autumn’s name may be made to Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago (www.luriechildrens.org) or to CAL’s Angels (www.calsangels.org).
