ROCKFORD—Priests, nuns and some lay ministers attended the Hispanic Ministry Day, Nov. 4 at the Diocesan  Administration Center, here, to discuss issues for the Latino people of God in the diocese.
Documentation and procedures for marriages were part of the agenda.

Bishop David Malloy welcomed the attendees and highlighted the importance of the Hispanic community for the diocese. A growing community, they bring with them religious traditions and devotions, such as a special dedication to Our Lady of Guadalupe and the Advent posadas, among others.

Since preparation for marriage includes some paperwork, Monsignor Nelson emphasized that behind of each case there is a soul, therefore the diocese not only works with documents but with people, “we need to pray for those people… you should work praying for them” he said.
