ROCKFORD—Ministry Formation graduates, permanent deacons and their spouses, and other certified or degreed pastoral ministers may sign up for new Ministry Formation classes to be offered in the diocese.

...Christology: Early Church Councils with Father Kenneth Wasilewski
The course examines several of the earliest Church Councils and the Christological impact of their decisions. This course will examine the historical issues facing the Church which led to the Councils being called; major figures involved with the Councils; and the impact these Councils had on the Church’s understanding of Christology.
The classes will be from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturdays, Jan. 24, March 7, 14 and 21 at Christ the Teacher University Parish, 512 Normal Road in DeKalb.
...ABCDs of Spirituality with Father David Peck
This course will explore the specific spirituality of each of the following orders: Augustinian, Benedictine, Carmelite and Dominican. Father Peck will discuss what characterizes each of these monastic orders from interior detachment and silence to love of teaching and devotion to the truth, as well as reflecting on the origins and saints inspiring each spirituality.
The class will be offered 1-4 p.m. Saturdays, Jan. 24, March 7, 14 and 21 Christ the Teacher University Parish, 512 Normal Road in DeKalb.
...The Spirituality of the Gospel of Mark with John McGrath
The class will make a close reading of Mark’s narrative to gain a theological appreciation of his unique and compelling view of Jesus’ ministry and death, and their impact on our spirituality today.
The class will be offered 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays, Feb. 7, 14, 21 and 28, at the Diocesan Administration Center, 555 Colman Center Dr., Rockford.
...Spiritual Direction II with Father Michael Fuller
The two-part course will continue to develop the theological principles, models and strategies initially presented in Spiritual Direction I. Participants must have successfully completed Spiritual Direction I to enroll in Spiritual Direction II.
The class will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays, April 25 and May 30, at St. Bridget Parish Center, 604 Clifford Ave, Loves Park.
Each course costs $100.
