Diocesan Chapter of Legatus To be Re-Chartered in June
April 24, 2015

ROCKFORD—As an organization for corporate executives and their spouses, Legatus (Latin for “ambassador”) provides an environment for its members to become ambassadors for the Catholic faith. The mission of the organization is for members “to study, live and spread the Catholic faith in our business, professional and personal lives.”

For 28 years the international organization — established by Tom Monaghan, founder and owner of Domino’s Pizza — has worked to bring together the faith, family and business areas of a Catholic business leader’s life. It is a unique support network of like-minded Catholics who have influence in the world marketplace. Members include presidents, CEOs, owners and executive vice presidents of sizable businesses. Learn more about membership at www.legatus.org.

The diocesan Rockford Chapter was initially chartered in 2001, and it is being reactivated through the efforts of John and Fran Morrissey of Rockford. The rechartering is scheduled for June 30. The Rockford Chapter will join three others in Illinois — Chicago, Peoria and DuPage County. The DuPage chapter was chartered on Feb. 20 this year.
