Bishop David Malloy visited Siena on Brendenwood, an independent-living retirement community owned and operated by the Diocese of Rockford, Aug. 13 to bless its new “Table Four” dining room.
The floor to ceiling renovation of the small room, located off the main dining room, readied it for continental breakfast during the week and for private parties, card parties and other social events.
Siena also has a new website, a new and significantly-lower community (entrance) fee structure, and a rebuilt parking lot.
During his blessing, Bishop Malloy said such new things and “what could be called the old” joys of faith, friends and neighbors can “come together to make a home.”
He visited with residents and staff and toured sample apartments.
