SHANNON—The annual Blue Mass, hosted by St. Wendelin Parish Knights of Columbus Council 12841, will be held Sept. 10.

The remembrance begins at 6:30 p.m. with a procession from the parish, 18 S. Linn St., to the Shannon Fire House, 14 S. Hickory St., where the Mass will take place.

Father Michael Bolger, pastor and chaplain of the council, will celebrate the Mass, which will begin at 7 p.m.

The Mass honors “the men and women who devote their lives to serving our communities under both routing and dangerous situations,” according to organizers.

Refreshments will be served at the fire house after the Mass.

Area firefighters, police, EMTs, other first responders, and anyone who supports their work, are invited.
