ALGONQUIN/MCHENRY —More than 50 voices from two parishes — St. Margaret Mary in Algonquin and Church of Holy Apostles in McHenry — will unite for two evenings to perform liturgical and inspirational music.
Performances will be:
â–º Oct. 9, 7 p.m., at St. Margaret Mary, 111 S. Hubbard, Algonquin, and
â–º Oct. 10, 6:30 p.m. at Church of Holy Apostles, 5211 W. Bull Valley Road, McHenry.
Ethnic choices will include Polish, Spanish and Tagalog songs.
Traditional and contemporary selections will be sung, including by local favorite Feargal King, director of the Diocesan Chorale.
Fans of the movie “Sister Act,” should be prepared to clap along to the movie arrangement of “Hail Holy Queen.”
Each parish’s children’s choir will join in performing at their home parish.
The concerts will celebrate St. Margaret Mary’s 100th anniversary and Church of the Holy Apostles recently concluded 25th anniversary.
Admission is free but donations will be accepted. A reception will follow each performance.
