Vespers Sunday, May 13

5 p.m. — Vespers at the Cathedral of Saint Peter Rockford

Vespers is the evening prayer during which ecumenical and civic leaders will join diocesan priests, visiting priests and bishops, permanent deacons and their wives and family, friends and guests in prayer and to witness Bishop-elect Malloy’s profession of faith and oath of fidelity. Bishop Doran will also bless the symbols of the office of bishop which are a crosier, ring and miter.

A reception will  be held immediately following in the cathedral fellowship hall for the deacons and their wives and ecumenical and civic leaders.

Tickets are required.

Ordination and Installation Monday, May 14

9:30 a.m. — Choir begins arriving at BMO Harris Bank Center, Rockford

10 a.m.—Large Group Music Rehearsal

10:30 a.m.  — Bishops’ buses leave Radisson for BMO

10:45 a.m —Shuttles begin running from Marinelli Field and Klehm Arboritum parking to  BMO

11 a.m. — BMO opens for general public, seating begins, food concessions open inside BMO

11:30 a.m. —  Lunch for staff working at BMO, music ministry, bishops, etc. (Vesting begins)

12:30 p.m. — Food concessions close

12:45 p.m. — Live rosary begins from ambo on altar stage

1 p.m. — Seating concludes

1:15 p.m. — Rosary ends; prelude music begins

1:30 p.m. — Procession begins (Live broadcast begins on WREX-TV in Rockford and on the diocesan website)

2 p.m. — The Rite and Mass begin

4:30 p.m. — Mass ends, recessional; shuttles begin running

4:30-6 p.m.  — Reception at BMO for guests who received special, mailed invitations

6 p.m.  —  Bishop Malloy departs for Radisson for dinner with family, friends
