Batavia Parish Book Club Lists Upcoming Selections, Meetings

BATAVIA—Holy Cross Parish women’s book club has selected its next five selections.

The group meets 9-11 a.m. on the third Tuesday of the month at Holy Cross Donovan Hall, 2300 Main St.

They read Catholic books on doctrine, the Blessed Mother, saints, apologetics, living the faith, prayer, parenting, and marriage.

Volunteers lead the discussion and act as hostess each month. Children are welcome.

Some books are available through Lighthouse Catholic Media.

Meeting dates and books selected are:

Jan. 19 — “The Second Greatest Story Ever Told” by Father Michael Gaitley.

Feb. 16 — “Arms of Love” by Carmen Marcoux.

March 15 — “The Vatican Prophesies: Investigating Supernatural Signs, Apparitions and Miracles in the Modern Age” by John Thavis. This book is also The Observer Book Club’s One Diocese, One Book selection for this year.

April 19 — “Lord of the World” by Msgr. Hugh Benson

May 17 — “St. Monica and the Power of Persistent Prayer” by Mark Sullivan and Mike Aguilina.
