John Sentovich carried the cross for the 11th station during Pope Francis’ Via Crucis (Way of the Cross) at the Colosseum this year.

He is the father of Rockford Diocese seminarian Nick Sentovich, who is studying for the priesthood at the Pontifical North American College in Rome.

One of Nick’s professors helped plan the event. The family, parishioners at Holy Family in Rockford, took a trip to Rome for Easter.

The service was broadcast on the Vatican Television Center (CTV).
