Boylan Names McAllister New Head Basketball Coach

ROCKFORD—Brett McAllister became head coach of the boys’ basketball program at Boylan  Central Catholic High School May 12.

McAllister will be the seventh head coach of boys’ basketball in school history.

He joined the Boylan faculty in July 2009 in the Social Sciences department.

Under the leadership of Mike Winters and Steve Goers, he served as freshman boys’ head coach for one year, and as sophomore boys’ head coach for six years with a record of 133-28.

He also was a member of the coaching staff of the Fightin’ Titan Basketball Camp.

In all, McAllister brings nine years of coaching experience to this new position, including two years at his alma mater Barrington High School where he returned to teach after graduating from college.

He played four years at Barrington High School and a year at Elmhurst College.

“I am both honored and excited to be named head coach of the Boylan (basketball program). ... Having coached so many of our players over the past seven years, I have gained so much respect for their relentless pursuit of becoming Saints, Scholars, Champions.”

“Brett will have his wife, Erin, and her family, all Boylan graduates, in the stands cheering him on,” said Boylan President Amy Ott.
