Annual Ecumenical Brunch Set for Oct. 8

ROCKFORD—The 20th Annual Ecumenical Brunch takes place this year on Saturday, Oct. 8, registration at 8:30 a.m., brunch and program from 9-11 a.m, at St. Bernadette Parish Hall, 2400 Bell Ave., here.

Featured speaker is Janet Biljeskovic, Director of Catholic Charities Refugee Resettlement Office in the Diocese of Rockford. Her talk will walk listeners through the process of screening and resettlement of refugees.

Brunch includes pastries, quiches, ham, sausage, cheesy potatoes, fruit, yogurt, orange juice and coffee.

Cost is $10 and a donation of women’s personal hygiene items to benefit women refugees. The brunch is co-sponsored by the North Conference of Northern Illinois Synod Women’s Organization (NISWO) Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (WELCA) and the Rockford Deanery Council of Catholic Women (Rockford DCCW).
