Meet the New Pastors Around the Rockford Diocese
Father Dario Endiape
ELGIN—Father Dario Endiape becomes pastor for St. Thomas More Parish on June 18.
Born in Lucena City, Philippines to Dario and Ligaya (Zolepta) Endiape, he was ordained to the priesthood by Msgr. Ruben T. Profugo at St. Ferdinand Cathedral in Lucena City on Sept. 24, 1993. He was incardinated into the Diocese of Rockford on Jan. 23, 2025.
In the Diocese of Rockford, Father Endiape first served as parochial vicar at St. Thomas More Parish-Elgin (2004-2007).
After service elsewhere, he returned to the Rockford Diocese to serve as parochial vicar at St. Mary Parish in Huntley (2022-2023). He was parochial administrator at St. Patrick Parish in McHenry (2023-2024) and has served as administrator at St. Thomas More Parish since June 2024.
Father William Etheredge
SUGAR GROVE—On June 18, Father William Etheredge will become pastor of St. Katharine Drexel Parish, here.
Born in Chicago to Forest and Joan (Horan) Etheredge, Father Etheredge attended Marian Central Catholic High School in Woodstock and West Aurora High School in Aurora. He attended Waubonsee Community College-Sugar Grove, Catholic University of America-Washington, D.C., St. Meinrad Seminary-St. Meinrad, Ind., Gregorian University in Rome and did post-graduate work at the University of Dayton. He earned his master’s at Catholic University (1979) and an S.T.B. (Bachelor of Sacred Theology) in Rome
in 1982.
He was ordained to the priesthood by Bishop Arthur J. O’Neill at Holy Angels Parish on June 25, 1983.
After ordination, Father Etheredge served as parochial vicar first at St. Mary Parish in DeKalb (1983-1986), then at St. Bernadette Parish in Rockford (1986-1987), also teaching part-time at Boylan Central Catholic High School. He then served at Boylan as a full-time faculty member (1987-2000), and as the school’s spiritual director (1990-2000), as well as serving as sacramental minister for Rockford College (1987-1988).
He was superintendent and principal at Aurora Central Catholic High School (2000-2022). He has served as a diocesan consultor since 2015. He has been vicar forane of the DeKalb Deanery since 2022, and pastor of St. Mary Parish in Sycamore since 2022.
Father David Finn
HAMPSHIRE—Father David Finn becomes the pastor of St. Charles Borromeo Parish, here, on June 18.
Born in Elgin to Gerald and Jane (Altwies) Finn, he attended Larkin High School there, Elgin Community College, and Northern Illinois University. He earned a bachelor’s in philosophy from Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary in Winona, Minn., and a Master of Divinity from Mount St. Mary Seminary in Emmitsburg, Md. (2003). He also did post graduate studies at Dominican University in River Forest.
He was ordained to the priesthood by Bishop Thomas G. Doran at the Cathedral of St. Peter, Rockford, on May 17, 2003.
Father Finn began as parochial vicar at St. Patrick Parish in St. Charles (2003-2005), serving also as a part-time religion teacher at St. Edward Central Catholic High School in Elgin. He was assistant principal at Marian Central Catholic High School in Woodstock (2005-2006), then assistant principal and spiritual director at St. Edward Central Catholic High School in Elgin (2006-2008).
He became parochial administrator (2008-2010) then pastor (2010-2011) at Sacred Heart Parish in Sterling, and acting principal (2008-2010), then superintendent and principal (2010-2011) at Newman Central Catholic High School in Sterling.
Father Finn was parochial vicar at Blessed Sacrament Parish in North Aurora (2011-2012) and spiritual director at Aurora Central Catholic High School (2011-2012). He became superintendent of St. Edward Central Catholic High School in Elgin (2012-2014) and began service as an associate master of ceremonies in 2013.
He was parochial vicar at the Cathedral of St. Peter in Rockford (2014-2015) and assistant principal and spiritual director at Boylan Central Catholic High School, Rockford (2014-2024), while assisting at the Cathedral (2015-2024).
Father Finn became administrator for St. Charles Borromeo Parish, Hampshire, in 2024.
Father John Kladar
BATAVIA—On June 18, Father John Kladar becomes pastor of Holy Cross Parish, here.
Born in Rockford to Gregory and Erin (Olesen) Kladar, he attended Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Academy, then Boylan Central Catholic High School and Rock Valley College all in Rockford, and St. Gregory the Great Seminary in Seward, Neb. He earned his degree in theology from Pontifical North American College in Rome (2014-2017) and St. Mary of the Lake Seminary in Mundelein (2018-2019).
He was ordained to the priesthood by Bishop David J. Malloy at the Cathedral of St. Peter-Rockford on June 1, 2019.
Father Kladar served as parochial vicar at St. Patrick Parish in St. Charles (2019-2022), also teaching part-time at St. Edward Central Catholic High School in Elgin. He became an associate master of ceremonies in June 2019 and serves on the Presbyteral Council (2023-2025). He was parochial vicar at Holy Cross Parish in Batavia (2022-2023), then became parochial
administrator for St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in Crystal Lake (2023-2024) and has served as pastor there since 2024.
Father Christopher Kuhn
CRYSTAL LAKE—On June 18, Father Christopher Kuhn becomes pastor of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, here.
Born in St. Charles to Robert and Kathryne (Burke) Kuhn, he attended St. Charles High School, Elgin Community College, Franciscan University of Steubenville-Ohio, and St. Mary-of-the-Lake Seminary in Mundelein, graduating with a Master of Theology in 1993. Post graduate studies there brought him a Master of Divinity and S.T.B. (Bachelor in Sacred Theology) in 1997.
He was ordained to the priesthood by Bishop Thomas G. Doran at the Cathedral of St. Peter on May 17, 1997. His first assignment was as parochial vicar at St. Mary Parish in Woodstock and part time teacher at Marian Central Catholic High School there (1997-2000).
In 2000, he served a few months as parochial vicar (part time) at the Cathedral of St. Peter, Rockford and full time as spiritual director at Boylan Central Catholic High School, Rockford. He served as administrator (2000-2001) at St. Mary Parish in Elizabeth, then as pastor there (2001-2007). He was also administrator (2000-2003) then pastor (2003-2007) at St. John the Evangelist Parish in Hanover.
Father Kuhn then was pastor at Holy Trinity Parish in Scales Mound (2004-2012) and St. Mary and St. Michael parishes in Galena (2007-2012). He was pastor at St. Mary Parish in Elgin (2012-2023).
Father Kuhn has been pastor of St. John the Baptist Parish in Savanna, and pastor of SS. John and Catherine Parish in Mt. Carroll since 2023.
Father Romeo Pavino
BYRON—Father Romeo Pavino will become pastor of St. Mary Parish in Byron on June 18.
Born in Lucena City, Quezon, Philippines to Ruben and Violeta (Lagasca) Pavino, he attended Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Seminary, St. Francis de Sales Seminary and St. Alphonsus Regional Seminary in his home country.
He was ordained to the priesthood by Bishop Ruben T. Profugo of the Diocese of Lucena, Philippines, on Sept. 8, 1998. He was incardinated into the Diocese of Rockford on June 10, 2024.
In the Rockford Diocese, Father Pavino has served as parochial vicar at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in Crystal Lake (2017-2018) and as parochial vicar at Holy Cross Parish in Batavia (2018-2021). He became council chaplain for the Knights of Columbus Council 2191 in 2020.
He served as parochial administrator of St. Peter Parish in South Beloit and Church of the Holy Spirit in Roscoe (2021-2022), and as pastor there (2022-2024). He was pastor of Church of the Holy Apostles in McHenry from 2024-2025.
Father Richard Rosinski
MCHENRY—Father Richard Rosinski becomes pastor of Church of Holy Apostles Parish, here, on June 18.
Born in Chicago to Richard and Antoinette (Mohorich) Rosinski, he attended Cary Grove High School, Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, and St. Mary Seminary in Baltimore, Md., where he graduated with a Master of Divinity and S.T.B. (Bachelor of Sacred Theology) in 1991.
He was ordained to the priesthood by Bishop Arthur J. O’Neill on May 18, 1991, at the Cathedral of St. Peter in Rockford.
He began his priestly service as parochial vicar at St. Bridget Parish in Loves Park (1991-1994), then was parochial vicar at St. Mary Parish in DeKalb (1994-1995). He served as parochial administrator at St. Edward Parish in Rockford (1995-1996), then returned to his service as parochial vicar at St. Mary, DeKalb (1996-1997), and was moderator of the DeKalb Deanery DCCW (Diocesan Council of Catholic Women) (1996-1997).
Father Rosinski was parochial administrator at St. Anne Parish in Dixon for a few months in 1997, then became pastor there (1997-2000), and was Faithful Friar for the Knights of Columbus Council #1702 (1999-2000). He then served as pastor at St. Catherine of Siena Parish in West Dundee and St. Mary Parish in Gilberts (2000-2007). He began service on the Diocesan Liturgical Music Committee in 2004.
He was pastor of St. John Neumann Parish in St. Charles (2007-2013). Then he served as pastor at St. Thomas More Parish in Elgin (2013-2019). He became Faithful Friar for Knights Council #2381 since 2015 and represented the Elgin Deanery on the Stewardship Commission (2017-2019).
Father Rosinski has been pastor of St. Mary Parish in Byron since 2019.
