Aurora Opens Illinois’ Oldest Drive-Through Christmas Display

December 25, 2025

AURORA—The oldest outdoor free Christmas display in Illinois is now open in Aurora and will continue to be a beacon of Christmas spirit through Jan. 2.

At its opening Dec. 14, the 74th annual Lehnertz Avenue drive-through event was blessed by Father Godwin Asuquo, pastor of St. Joseph Parish, here.

The blocks-long display is on Lehnertz Avenue, and Lehnertz Circle to the east. It’s open 5-10:30 p.m. daily.

Visitors can view lawn signs, cut-out figures associated with Christmas, Charlie Brown characters and more. Enter Lehnertz Avenue via Sheridan Street, go through Lehnertz Circle and exit via Ohio Street.
