DEKALB—Christ the Teacher University Parish will offer Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) level 1B training June 15-20, 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m., in the St. Agatha Atrium. Each day will include Mass at 12:05 p.m.
CGS, the Montessori-style religious education method, was developed in Rome in the 1950s. It seeks to create a “hands-on” space for children (ages 3-6) and their catechists to ponder the mysteries of the Catholic faith.
This second part of level 1 training is open to anyone who has previously attended a Part 1A training with a CGS formation leader.
Training will be led by Carolyn Kohlhaas, a nationally recognized CGS leader. Cost: $185; due June 15. Registration is open at https://www.newmanniu.org/cgs-training
