CHICAGO—At the 63rd Annual Stewardship Conference — “Stewardship: A Journey of Hope” — held in Chicago Sept. 21-24, the 2025 annual diocesan appeal video created by the Office of Charitable Giving won an Award for Excellence for the second year in a row. Its theme this year is “That All May Be One.”
The award was presented by the International Catholic Stewardship Council.
“This recognition is a testament to the teamwork over the years at the Diocese of Rockford,” says Claudia Broman, director of the Office of Charitable Giving.
“Our annual appeal preparations involve many people, and I am grateful for everything the team contributed to the creation of this year’s video. I am also grateful for all the efforts over the past 50 years made by so many here at the diocese to support our annual appeal promotions. Without all their time, dedication, and creativity, the video this year wouldn’t exist!” she says.
This year’s video focuses on this 50th year of the annual appeal, which was begun by Bishop Arthur J. O’Neill. Each year, the appeal requests donations for the ongoing needs of diocesan administration that include the education needs of seminarians and permanent deacons, support for schools, religious education and adult formation, and various administrative functions at the diocesan level. The appeal video is shown in parishes on a weekend close to the collection.
