Parishes Prepare to Honor St. Joseph on His Feast Day

These parishes provided information about their St. Joseph celebrations. Check with your parish for other activities.
AMBOY
St. Patrick -- March 19
St. Joseph’s Table: after 8 a.m. Mass outside the parish’s St. Joseph’s Hall. It will offer things not normally received by people who use the food pantry. A procession from the church will be followed by a blessing of the foods and table, then a procession back to the church for Adoration on the St. Joseph’s Altar until noon.
Prayer cards: Memorare to St. Joseph prayer cards will be handed out and recited after Masses.

Memorials: Parishioners are invited to light a candle on the St. Joseph’s Altar once a week in memory or celebration of someone during the Year of St. Joseph.

HUNTLEY
St. Mary -- March 19
Mass: 6 p.m. in the church. After Mass there will be a St. Joseph Altar in the narthex. Donations will be accepted for the parish St. Vincent de Paul food pantry. Family Ministry will provide a St. Joseph craft to take home and complete.

St. Patrick -- March 20-21
St. Joseph Table Food Drive: Italian themed drive for FISH of McHenry Food Pantry. A collection of food and money near the St. Joseph’s Table in the narthex. Foods needed are non-perishable pasta sauce, canned tomatoes and tomato sauces, dry pasta and rice, minestrone soup, olives, parmesan cheese (not refrigerated), biscotti or Italian cookies, canned or jar Italian items, rice, juice, nuts, beef jerky, canned fruit, condiments, baby food, baby dry cereal and formula. Non-food items needed are bath soap (bars), deodorant, shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste, dish and laundry detergent, baby diapers and wipes, feminine hygiene products, adult disposable underwear, diapers and pads.
ROCKFORD
St. Bernadette -- March 13
St. Joseph Altar: 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the parish center.
March 14
Drive-through dinner: 12:30-3:30 p.m., pick-up of a free St. Joseph Altar dinner, a blessed St. Joseph candle and a pamphlet with prayers to St. Joseph in the St. Bernadette School parking lot. Those who leave written prayer intentions will be remembered at Masses offered for all parishioners intentions. Please join us in honoring God by honoring St. Joseph.
