MACHESNEY PARK—Bishop David Malloy was one of 288 appointments  at the COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic at OSF Rock Cut here March 17.

In honor of the Feast of St. Patrick, Bishop Malloy wore a green mask as he waited in line for his first dose of the Moderna vaccine. Other than slight soreness at the injection site in his arm, the bishop reported no other side effects.

In a letter to the faithful on March 5, Bishop Malloy wrote that “choosing to be vaccinated can be both an act of love toward our most vulnerable brothers and sisters, as well as a contribution to the common good of our society.”
