Sister Jubilarians Celebrate Milestones of Religious Life

School Sisters of St. Francis
75 years -- Sister Donna Weiss, OSF

MILWAUKEE—Sister Donna Weiss celebrates her 75th jubilee as a School Sister of St. Francis this year. 

She was born in Aurora and received a bachelor’s degree in biology from Alverno College and a master’s degree in religious studies from Mundelein College.
 
She served as a teacher, secretary, and consultant in Carol Stream, Pesotum, and New York City, and, at St. Joseph Convent in Campbellsport, she was personnel director (1987-1995); activity director (1995-1997); in personal services (1997-2005); and a volunteer (2005-2012).
 
In the Diocese of Rockford, Sister Donna was a teacher at St. Nicholas School in Aurora (1966-1967); Cathedral/Holy Family School in Rockford (1967-1970); Our Lady of Good Counsel School in Aurora (1975-1977); and Sacred Heart School in Aurora (1977-1982). Sister Donna also was a secretary for the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart community in Aurora (1983-1987). 
 
Sister Donna now serves in the ministry of prayer and presence at Sacred Heart Health Center.
 
Poor Clare Colettines
70 years -- Sister Mary Celene Douglas, PCC 
 
ROCKFORD—Poor Clare Sister Mary Celine Douglas celebrates 70 years of profession this year with the Poor Clare Colettines.
 
She is part of the cloistered community of Poor Clares at Corpus Christi Monastery in Rockford, serving with prayer and with offering sacrifices for the needs of the Diocese of Rockford, for the U.S. and for the world.
 
School Sisters of Notre Dame
60 years -- Sister Marcianne Bzdon, SSND 
 
STERLING—Sister Marcianne Bzdon, a School Sister of Notre Dame, celebrates 60 years of profession this year.
 
Her education includes a bachelor’s degree in Education from Mount Mary College in Milwaukee; a master’s degree in Curriculum and an Administrative Certificate from Illinois State University in Normal.
 
After serving as an elementary teacher at St. Stanislaus Kostka School in Chicago (1964-1970), Sister Marcianne has served in the Diocese of Rockford. That service includes:
Teacher/Principal at St. James School, Belvidere (1970-1978) and (1978-1981); Teacher/Principal at St. Anne School, Dixon (1981-2016); Part-time resource at Newman Central Catholic High School, Sterling (2016 to the present); Part-time teacher at St. Andrew School, Rock Falls (2016 to the present).
 
Sister Marcianne is now semi-retired and lives in Sterling.
 
Springfield Dominicans
60 years -- Sister Jane Ann Beckman, OP
 
AURORA—Springfield Dominican Sister Jane Ann Beckman celebrates her 60th jubilee in 2022. Her hometown is Dietrich, Ill. She made her profession of vows on June 19, 1962.
 
Much of sister Jane Ann’s ministerial life has been spent in the Archdiocese of Chicago and the Rockford Diocese. Her first years of ministry were spent teaching primary grades at Sacred Heart, Granite City, (1962-1963), St. Dominic, Quincy, (1963-1969), St. Walter, Chicago (1969-1971).
 
In the Diocese of Rockford, she taught at St. Charles Borromeo School, Hampshire, (1971-1975), then went to Rosary High School, Aurora, (1975-1982) and to Marian Central Catholic Catholic High School, Woodstock (1982-1990). After one year as a pastoral minister at St. Mary Parish in Assumption, IL (1990-1991) Sister Jane Ann studied in preparation for the role of formation director for the congregation (1992-1998). 
 
From 1998 to the present she has served at the Dominican Literacy Center, Aurora. Since 2011 she has coordinated the citizenship program at the center, preparing permanent legal residents of the United States for their citizenship tests.
 
Springfield Dominicans
50 years -- Sister M. Geraldine Kemper, OP 
 
AURORA—Springfield Dominican Sister M. Geraldine Kemper celebrates her golden jubilee in 2022. She made her profession of vows with the Springfield Dominicans June 19, 1972.
 
She began her service teaching in Springfield, Chicago, and for 23 years, she was principal at Holy Family School in Decatur.
 
In the Diocese of Rockford, Sister Geraldine taught and was principal at St. Charles Borromeo School in Hampshire (1981-1987). Since 2015 she’s become a familiar face at Rosary High School in Aurora where she is outreach coordinator and facilities manager. She welcomes families to the school, is ever-present at alumnae events, and is a great booster for the value of a Rosary college prep education.
 
Sinsinawa Dominicans
60 years -- Sister Sarah Anne Kaminski, OP  
 
SINSINAWA, Wis.—Sinsinawa Dominican Sister Sarah Anne Kaminski will celebrate her 60th jubilee in 2022. 
 
Her religious name was Sister Mary Ansana, and her home parish is St. James Parish, Rockford. 
 
Sister Sarah Anne’s ministry has been dedicated to teaching and congregation ministry. 
 
In the Archdiocese of Milwaukee, she taught at St. John Cathedral High School, Milwaukee, (1964-1968), and Dominican High School, Whitefish Bay, (1980-1986). 
 
In the Diocese of Helena she taught at Anaconda Central High School, Anaconda, (1968-1970). 
 
In the Archdiocese of Chicago, Sister Sarah Anne taught at Trinity High School, River Forest, (1970-1973). 
 
In the Diocese of Peoria, she served as principal and teacher at Central Catholic High School, Bloomington, (1973-1980). 
 
Today Sister Sarah Anne lives and supports the Community of Welcome in Sinsinawa, Wis.
 
Immaculate Heart of Mary Sisters
25 years -- Sister Maria Chinweze Enujiofor, IHM
 
FREEPORT—Sister Maria Chinweze Enujiofor is celebrating 25 years of her first profession with the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Mother of Christ Congregation, Nigeria.
 
In Nigeria, she served at the IHM Generalate and as a business manager at Holy Angels Schools in Nigeria (1998-2000). Her education includes bachelor’s and master’s degrees in social work, and her service in the United States has been at St. Joseph Home for the Aged in Kenosha, Wis. (2005-2010), at Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio (2010-2012), at Sharing and Caring Hands in Minneapolis (2012-2015) and at St. Gregory Retreat Center in Adair, Iowa (2015-2018).
 
In the Diocese of Rockford, Sister Chinweze served at the Chancery Office (2000-2005) and from 2018 to the present in Freeport at Madonna Renewal Center and as a clinical therapist at the Freeport Home Network Family Counseling Center.
