New Assistant Dean to Lead ACC Students, Football Team

AURORA—Aurora Central Catholic High School (ACC) will welcome Christian Rago as its new head football coach and assistant dean this year. Rago will contribute nearly 10 years of college and high school coaching experience.  
 
In his new role, Rago will lead training sessions, create game plans and direct players during gameplay. As assistant dean, Rago will lead ACC’s advanced fitness class program and aid with the planning, coordination and administration of other school programs and activities.   
 
“It’s an honor to join Aurora Central Catholic High School’s acclaimed athletic network,” said Rago. “As head football coach, my mission is to focus on developing the whole person, empowering each student-athlete to reach new levels of success both on and off the field.” 
 
Rago comes from St. Patrick High School in Chicago where he served as a varsity assistant coach and offensive coordinator. Previously, Rago coached at  Woodstock High School and the University of Chicago. 
 
Rago earned a bachelor’s degree at Aurora University. He later completed his master’s degree in business administration. He began his coaching career at Montana State University-Northern.   
 
“We’re excited to start a new chapter of Charger football under Coach Rago, and the future looks very bright,” said Paul Mayer, principal at Aurora Central Catholic High School.
