Genocide Survivor to Share Faith Sept. 23
September 15, 2022
BELVIDERE—St. James Parish will hold a retreat sponsored by the Legion of Mary Sept. 23, 5-9 p.m.; and Sept. 24, 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m., at the parish center, 320 Logan Ave.
The retreat will be led by Immaculée Ilibagiza, survivor of the 1994 Rwandan genocide and author of the book “Left to Tell,” which recounts how she and seven other women survived the genocide by hiding in a 3 x 4 foot bathroom for 91 days.
The horrific experience also became one of  extraordinary faith as she found a refuge in the rosary.
The retreat cost is $57/person or $76/two people.
