Class, Mass For Mental Health Awareness

ROCKFORD—Catholic Charities will provide educational materials about mental health and continue efforts to pray and care for those contemplating suicide, those who have died by suicide and those who are grieving losses to suicide.
 
Mental Health 101 for Catholics 
 
LOVES PARK—St. Bridget Parish will host a mental health course Oct. 15, 9 a.m-2 p.m., in Mitchell Hall, directly across from the church entrance at 600 Clifford Dr. The course will explore mental health and symptoms of various mental illnesses, as well as the benefits of therapy, counseling and medication during recovery. Lunch provided. Register by Oct. 11 by calling 815-520-7549 or emailing cmhm@rockforddiocese.org. 
 
Mass of Remembrance 
 
ROCKFORD—St. Anthony of Padua Parish will host a Mass of Remembrance Oct. 29, 9 a.m., to pray for those who have died by suicide. Attendees are asked to send the names of their loved ones by Oct. 25 to Mary Fuller, Mental Health Ministry Coordinator for the Diocese of Rockford, at cmhm@rockforddiocese.org. Attendees may also bring small framed photos to display during the Mass. A time of fellowship will follow in the parish hall at 1010 Ferguson St
