Maytown Seamstresses Donate ‘Sew’ Many Dresses, Shorts
December 22, 2022
MAYTOWN—The sewing group from St. Patrick Parish recently gathered with Debbie Ward, a representative from the humanitarian aid organization Samaritan’s Purse.

Ward had requested donations of dresses and shorts for the organization’s “Operation Christmas Child.” The boxes put together for the operation are sent around the world to children in need.

The small sewing group answered Ward’s request with many donations — 71 dresses and 55 pairs of shorts.

Since the group was formed, almost 6,000 dresses and hundreds of pairs of shorts have been made and donated. Its members meet weekly in the parish hall from April through November for sewing and fellowship.
