ROCKFORD—The annual Day of Reflection sponsored by the Discalced Carmelite Secular Community of the Holy Innocents returns in 2023 after a three-year COVID hiatus. 

 

“The Journey of Prayer” will be presented by Father Ryan Browning on Saturday, March 11, at St. Rita Parish’s Wahl Hall, 6254 Valley Knoll Dr. in Rockford. 

 

Ordained in 2013, Father Browning is pastor of St. Thomas More Parish in Elgin. He is a Censor Librorum for the diocese, reviewing materials requesting Bishop David Malloy’s imprimatur, and holds a Licentiate in Sacred Theology. Before discerning a call to the priesthood, he was a professional golfer.

 

The day begins with morning prayer at 9 a.m. followed by Mass, breakfast, two talks, lunch, and a third talk, ending around 2:30 p.m. Drawings for raffles of baskets of goodies will conclude the day.
