Sisters of St. Joseph of the Third Order of St. Francis
 
70 years: Sister Janice Rosinke, SSJ-TOSF
Sister Janice Rosinke celebrates her 70th Jubilee with the Sisters of St. Joseph of the Third Order of St. Francis this year.     
 
She entered the congregation on Jan. 6, 1953, from her home parish of St. Patricia in Hickory Hill. She graduated from Lourdes High School in Chicago, earned a BA degree from Loyola University in Chicago, and an MBA degree from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb.  
 
Sister Janice spent many years as an elementary and junior high school teacher, assistant principal, university administrator and instructor.  Her assignments took her to schools in Chicago, DeKalb, Crystal Lake, and Elgin as well as schools in South Bend, Ind. 
 
Sister Janice also ministered in various facets of religious education including as a director of religious education and adult religious education. She also served her congregation in leadership and financial roles.  
 
Sister Janice now resides at The Oaks in Bartlett where she volunteers for scripture classes and faith sharing groups.

75 years: Sister Mary Schlehuber, OP
Sister Mary Schlehuber will mark her 75th jubilee in 2023. Her religious name was Sister Mary Ania. 
 
Her home parish is St. Thomas, Peoria Heights. She is the daughter of the late Clarence and Veronica (Scanlon) Schlehuber. 
 
Her ministry has been dedicated to teaching and hospital chaplaincy, and she has served in the Archdioceses of Chicago and Los Angeles, and in the Diocese of Madison, Wis.
 
In the Diocese of Rockford, Sister Mary taught at St. Mary School, Dixon, 1948-1952. 
 
Sister Mary lives in community with her Dominican Sisters. 
 
70 years: Sister Duchesne Maxwell, OP
Sister Duchesne celebrates her 70th jubilee in 2023.
 
Sister Duchesne’s home parish is St. Cecilia Cathedral, Omaha. She is the daughter of the late Charles and Loretta (Peasinger) Maxwell. Her ministry has been dedicated to teaching, administration and pastoral care.
 
She has served in the Archdioceses of Milwaukee, Chicago, Dubuque, St. Paul and Minneapolis, and Omaha, and in the Dioceses of Sioux City, Iowa; LaCrosse and Madison, Wisconsin; Peoria; and Spokane.
 
In the Diocese of Rockford, She served as librarian and teacher at Aquin Central Catholic High School, Freeport, 1968-1973.  
 
Sister Duchesne currently is living in community with her Dominican Sisters. 
 
70 years: Sister Sheila Griffin, OP
Sister Sheila Griffin will celebrate her 70th jubilee in 2023. Her religious name was Sister Johanna.
 
Sister Sheila’s home parish is St. Patrick, Shieldsville, in the St. Paul and Minneapolis Archdiocese. She is the daughter of the late Jack and Kathryn (McGuiness) Griffin and graduated from Bethlehem Academy, Faribault. 
 
Her ministry has been dedicated to education and social outreach, mainly in the South. She has served in the Archdiocese of Chicago, the Dioceses of Jackson, Madison, Kansas City-St. Joseph, and also has ministered in Alabama and Florida.
 
In the Diocese of Rockford, Sister Sheila was co-principal and taught at Nativity BVM, Menomonee, 1979-1980. 
 
She now is living in community with her Dominican Sisters.
 
70 years: Sister Dorothy Kennedy, OP
Sister Dorothy Kennedy will celebrate her 70th jubilee in 2023. Her religious name was Sister Thomasello.
 
Sister Dorothy’s home parish is St. Mary, Lost Lake, Wis. She is the daughter of the late Charles and Adeline (Press) Kennedy. 
 
Sister Dorothy’s ministry has been dedicated to teaching, administration, and family care giving. She has served in the Archdioceses of Chicago, Baltimore, Mobile and Milwaukee, and in the Dioceses of Great Falls-Billings and Madison.
 
In the Diocese of Rockford, she taught at St. Mary, Dixon (1958-1962) and St. Patrick, Rockford (1973-1976).
 
She now lives in community with her Dominican Sisters. 
 
School Sisters of St. Francis
 
75 years: Sister Gerda Moehler, OSF
Sister Gerda Moehler was born in Chicago. She holds a bachelor’s degree in music from Alverno College in Milwaukee; a master’s in music from Northwestern University in Evanston; a master’s in counseling psychology from Loyola University in Chicago; and a doctor of psychology degree from Illinois School of Professional Psychology in Chicago. 
 
In the Diocese of Rockford, Sister Gerda taught music at Madonna High School in Aurora, 1959-1970, and was on the leadership team for the School Sisters of St. Francis’ Mount St. Francis Province in Rockford, 1970-1977. 
 
In retirement, she has served as a volunteer at Sacred Heart (2019-2020) and at Clement Manor in Greenfield, where she has resided since 2020.
 
60 years: Sister Jo Denice Heck 
Sister Jo Denice Heck celebrates 60 years as a School Sister of St. Francis.  She was born in Omaha, Neb. 
 
In the Diocese of Rockford, she ministered at Maria Linden in Rockford as director of personal services (1980-1981), personal services (1981-1989), administrative aide (1989-1993), and general office manager (1993-1995). She also was personal care coordinator at Cor Mariae Center in Rockford (1995-2000). 
 
Sister Jo Denice now is a retired volunteer at Maria Linden in Milwaukee.
