Join Rockford’s Walk for Life June 24
June 15, 2023
ROCKFORD—Rockford’s annual Walk for Life and Family will be June 24, starting with a rally outside the State of Illinois office building at 200 S. Wyman St. Pro-lifers will then walk several blocks to the Rockford city hall building, then back to the office building to conclude in prayer around 1 p.m.
Modeled after the annual March for Life in Washington, DC, the walk will celebrate the one-year anniversary of the overturning of Roe v. Wade with the Supreme Court’s decision on Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization.
The event, organized by the Rockford Family Initiative, will feature several speakers, including Sarah Michalak, the programs manager for Students for Life of America, and Emily Giasson, executive director of Lifeline Coalition Freeport.
“On June 24 we will celebrate the Dobbs v. Jackson decision that saved the lives of countless babies in the womb,” said Kevin Rilott of the Rockford Family Initiative. “At the same time, we know that Illinois has very pro-abortion laws, so we still have a lot of work to do. Thankfully, we have a vibrant pro-life community here in Rockford, with huge numbers of pro-lifers coming out for the Rockford Walk for Life over the past two years — and we are expecting an even bigger turnout this year.”
