BELVIDERE—SportsFest 2023 brought the Rockford area and Fox Valley area communities of Filipino Catholics together socially on July 29 at St. James Parish in Belvidere.

 

The second annual event was hosted this year by the Greater Rockford Filipino-American Catholic Community (GRFACC) and welcomed members of the Fox Valley Filipino-American Catholic Ministry (FVFACM) to a day of sports, fellowship and food. 

 

Sports included volleyball, pickleball, basketball and Filipino games.

 

Cheers, photos and trophies accompanied the announcement of the winners of the games following a potluck luncheon of a variety of foods and desserts, including several Filipino dishes. 

 

Next year’s event will be hosted by the Fox Valley community.
