Get Active to Help Aquin
August 10, 2023
FREEPORT—This summer, the Aquin Catholic Schools community is involved in the annual Freeport Health Network (FHN) Miles and Minutes fundraiser program, and the school could win big if enough participants get moving — literally.
The competition, run by the regional healthcare system FHN, promotes physical activitiy and exercise by logging participants’ minutes. These are then automatically converted into “miles” which are totaled by school.
At the end of the competition prizes will be awarded to the top three schools in two main categories:
-- Most average “miles” logged per participant; and
-- Most total “miles.”
First place winners will receive $2000, second place is $1000, and third place is $500.
As of Aug. 7, Aquin Catholic Schools was in third place for the second category, miles per school system.
The competition between schools runs through Aug. 27, so there's still time to register and log your Miles and Minutes to help Aquin Catholic Schools climb the standings.
In fact, climbing is one way to help, as well as many other exercises: aerobics, biking, gardening, golfing, hiking, mowing, swimming, yoga and many more. Find the full list at https://www.smore.com/krpjc
Anyone ages 12 and over can sign up for the free program.
