Great Lakes Conference Calls Catholic Men Nov. 18

DEKALB—Catholic men of all ages are invited to the 28th annual Great Lakes Men’s Conference on Nov. 18, 8:50 a.m.-4 p.m., at Northern Illinois University’s Holmes Student Center at 340 Carroll Ave. Doors open at 8 a.m.
 
This year, the conference will focus on John 6:35: “I am the bread of life; he who comes to me shall not hunger; and he who believes in me shall never thirst.”
 
The day’s speaker lineup includes Justin Fatica, speaker, author and founder of Hard as Nails Ministries; Father Richard Simon, host of “Simon Says” on Relevant Radio; Father Timothy Anastos, a speaker commissioned for the National Eucharistic Revival; and John Scott, former Chicago Blackhawks enforcer.
 
The master of ceremonies will be Wayne Messmer, longtime National Anthem singer for the Chicago Cubs. 
 
The day will also include music, adoration, confession, and a Mass celebrated by Bishop David Malloy. Lunch will be provided. 
 
The conference is open to married, single and divorced men including fathers, teenage sons and grandfathers. Costs vary based on vocation, age and registration status. The conference will cost $10 for deacons and $25 for participants of college age and younger. The conference will cost $50 for those above college age. The cost at the door will be $55.
