Have a Rosary Relay at Your House

  • Click on the rosary (above) to get to an 8 1/2 by 11 inch printable copy.
  • Decorate it and post it in a place that everyone passes in your home.
  • When you go by, stop for a minute or two and say the prayer for the next bead or two,
then mark the beads you’ve prayed. Explain it to everyone in the house,
so they can all take part
  • If you post it on another surface, one way to mark a completed bead would be
to color a mark or symbol — maybe a small cross — next to it.
  • If yours is a “crafty” family, you’ll probably come up with better ways to decorate
    and mark your rosary page.
  • As with any relay, it takes teamwork — the whole family — to “win the race.”
  • When you’ve finished one full rosary, you can start around again
    on the same decorated paper.
  • Or you can print another one and start from scratch.
  • Check the links above for instructions for praying the rosary.
  • You can also find instructions and the prayers at the
  • U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ website

2021 Diocesan Appeal
Coloring Contest

ROCKFORD—Kids, use your art talents to color the picture of the grapes and vines used for this year’s theme and you may be one of three winners from the Office of Charitable Giving.

All children in the diocese are invited to enter the contest says Claudia Broman, director of the Office of Charitable Giving. The three winners will receive prizes, she adds.

If there is more than one child in a household, additional copies of the drawing and entry form are available. Click here to view and print the drawing.

The deadline is May 15. The winners will be announced in The Junior Observer on May 28.

Mail colored pictures and the entry form to Appeal Color Contest, Office of Charitable Giving, P.O. Box 7044, Rockford, IL 61125.
